Labor Relations

The Office of Labor Relations is a part of the County Executive Office, and is responsible for fostering harmonious and cooperative labor management relations between employee organizations and the County. In this effort, the Office of Labor Relations is charged with:

  • Negotiating labor agreements with recognized employee organizations;

  • Administering 21 labor agreements for 25 bargaining units

  • Resolving contract disputes through mediation, arbitration and administrative hearings; 

  • Administering employee relations statutes, ordinances and policies; and 

  • Providing advice and counsel to County management regarding labor relations issues.

The Office of Labor Relations works closely with the Department of Personnel Services and County Counsel in providing assistance and direction to the County supervisors and managers.
